Companions are looking set to Lord it

SERIES 11 of Doctor Who will hit our screens on Sunday, October 7 with two other new characters.

MANDIP GILL, 30, plays Yasmin Khan, companion to the Time Lord.

The former Hollyoaks actress says: “I was at a stage in my career where I was like, ‘I want to do something that’s really exciting — and I want to be chased by monsters’.” Gill loves the fact that she does not have to tone down her accent as she is from Leeds and her character is from Sheffield.

TOSIN COLE, 26, will portray another companion, Ryan Sinclair.

Also an ex-Hollyoaks star, Cole admits he was not an avid Doctor Who fan but has grown to love the sci-fi drama. He adds: “We get to see aliens and space ships and crazy things. It has been fun.”
