Revealed: Brit fascists’ plot to kill Monty and Ike

D-DAY CHIEFS Eisenhower and Monty TWO British Nazi fanatics plotted to murder Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery and General Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower as they met to plan D-Day, MI5 files show.

Marita Perigoe and Eileen Gleave aimed to launch a gun attack after finding out Monty was using his old headmaster’s office in the evacuated St Paul’s School, South West London.

The young women planned to use weapons from a Home Guard depot in Wembley.

But they and 500 other UK fascists had been duped into a fake spy ring led by Eric Roberts, posing as Hitler’s top agent in Britain, Jack King.

He approved the plot to avoid blowing his cover but stalled it long enough for the D-Day plans to be completed.

Eisenhower “laughed it off” when told by MI5 of the plot, revealed by Robert Hutton in new book Agent Jack.

The fake spy ring idea worked so well MI5 considered forming a bogus Fascist Party after the war to snare die-hard Nazis.
