Cable: Time to stop giant tax dodgers
VINCE Cable named Amazon, Facebook and Google as he urged a war on corporate “tax dodgers”.
The Lib-Dem leader said allowing online giants to skip their dues was ruining traditional shops.
Sir Vince told the party conference in Brighton yesterday: “Every citizen and company should pay their fair share.”
He added: “Nothing gets up the noses of honest taxpayers more than a government squeezing every penny out of small firms while rolling out the red carpet for world-class tax-dodgers like Amazon, Facebook and Google.”
Shops are being ruined by online rivals and high business rates, triggering the Mirror’s High Street Fightback campaign.
