Chris is Wild about Woody

Sheffield United v Birmingham City Kick-off, 7.45pm CHRIS WILDER is backing wonderkid Ben Woodburn to play a key role in taking Sheffield United back to the Premier League.

It’s 11 years since the Blades last graced the top flight, but boss Wilder believes teenage sensation Woodburn (above) can lead the charge.

The 18-year-old striker, on loan at United from Liverpool, is set to make only his second Championship start at home to troubled Birmingham tonight.

And Wilder said: “He will become an important player over the course of the campaign and make a big contribution to our push for promotion.

“There’s more to come from him but, remember, he is still only 18 and this is a learning curve for him.”
