Tavernier deal boosts Gerrard
RANGERS captain James Tavernier has claimed he never thought of leaving Ibrox after signing a new and improved contract.
The right-back was the subject of interest from West Brom in the summer, but Rangers rejected two offers and he has committed himself to Steven Gerrard’s team until 2022.
On the official Rangers website, Tavernier said: “I am delighted to still be a Rangers player.
“There was a bit of interest in the summer, but I was fully focused on working with the gaffer in this new campaign, being captain as well.”
