CANARIES OWE IT TO SUPER MARIO

MARIO VRANCIC won the battle of the super subs to condemn Reading to more home misery.

The Royals, who have not won a league game at the Madejski Stadium since April, fell behind in the 14th minute to a Teemu Pukki goal.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson hauled Reading level in the 72nd minute, just three minutes after he had climbed off the bench, scrambling home after Sam Baldock had hit the post.

But Vrancic (above) had an even bigger impact from the bench. Sent on at the same time as Bodvarsson, he grabbed the winner four minutes later.

The Canaries, who hadn’t won away in the Championship this season heading into last night’s game, held on for their second win in four days and they are now two points off the top six.
