Another day, and another newspaper needs to go to print.
Last we saw, editor of The Post, Duncan (Ben Chaplin), wondered about poaching The Herald’s Holly (Charlotte Riley). His first move was buying her an umbrella, let’s hope he steps up the grand gestures.
Post reporter Edward, aka the polar bear, has now moved in with Holly. As this episode opens he spots some notes that Holly dropped in the kitchen. Since they work for rival papers she should probably start putting things away.
There’s tension and comedy in the first scenes as Holly rushes into The Herald’s offices in the early hours for an emergency call.
Elsewhere, Ed (Paapa Essiedu) travels to Warwick to interview Geoff Newman (David Lonsdale), a man the media suspect of being involved in a boy’s murder. But he’s irritated to find that Leona (Ellie Kendrick) is on the case too.
Meanwhile, Duncan strikes a deal with the prime minister.
