Gluten linked to diabetes

MUMS who eat a lot of bread and pasta during pregnancy double the risk of their child developing diabetes, a study suggests.

A diet high in gluten has been linked to the type 1 form of the disease in a study of 64,000 pregnant women in Denmark.

But Dr Jenny Myers, of Manchester University, said: “Women should not make radical changes to their diet based on this.”
