Are wheels coming off bike chain?

BIKE shop Evans Cycles is in a race against time to find a buyer, with reports that potential bidders have been asked to submit offers by the end of next week.

It follows speculation the chain was trying to raise more than £10million of emergency funds. It has some 60 stores and 1,200 staff.

Evans Cycles, which dates to 1921, was bought by ECI Partners in 2015. Neither firm responded to a request for comment.
