KISS have announced their final tour after a career of nearly five decades.

The US rockers will bow out after 45 years of performing with an End of the Road World Tour.

Speaking on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, on which they performed their hit Detroit Rock City, the band said: “This is going to be our last tour.

“It will be the most explosive, biggest shows we’ve ever done.”

Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer said: “This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t.”

Frontman Simmons had said the band would quit in 2000, but changed his mind two years later.
