Whether you’re a fan of stunning British scenery, a bit of a railway geek, or appreciate a dishy and enthusiastic presenter, this new series will have something for you.
Engineer slash adventurer Rob Bell is exploring the country’s unused historic railway lines – and some of them haven’t seen a train in decades.
He’s starting in northern Scotland along the old route from Elgin to Portsoy, which served the fishing and whisky industries so vital to the communities living there.
While in some of the places Rob finds the lack of transport and industry has left behind a bit of a ghost town, in others former train stations have been turned into beautiful homes or heritage railways have sprung up.
Rob’s not just walking, he’s also climbing and, er, kayaking as well. The last one might seem a bit of a stretch away from the title, but it helps provide the most incredible views.
