STUDGE GIVES KLOPP A NUDGE

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

DANIEL STURRIDGE has been hailed as an example to the Liverpool dressing room by Andy Robertson.

The striker has turned around his Liverpool career and is pushing for a regular starting place.

In his first start for the Reds since November, Sturridge scored in the dramatic Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Kop full-back Robertson says the former England star’s Anfield rebirth shows that boss Jurgen Klopp will reward hard work in training.

“At training we’re all hungry for starting places,” said the new Scotland captain. “And Studge sums it up. He has 70 minutes and plays unbelievably against a top side and two very good centre-backs.

“I’m sure all the boys sitting on the bench will hope they’ll make similar impacts when called upon.”
