Beeb tell Michaela: Tits out
Autumnwatch presenters warned over innuendo as they head to land of beaver
AFTER TV wildlife hosts Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham were warned by bosses for constantly giggling on air about “great tits”, it seems things may get even worse.
The forthcoming series of their BBC2 show Autumnwatch will be filmed in New England, which is full of beavers.
Michaela, 52, has insisted all their innuendo is “accidental” but added there will be loads more when the programme is broadcast live from the US.
She said: “They have beavers in New England. They also have bald eagles and moose. I don’t know what we’ll do with moose but I’m sure we’ll find something.
“When you are talking live on televi- sion about ‘great tits’ you don’t even need to do an innuendo... the innuendo factor is pretty high.”
Michaela added: “It’s really nice for us to see wildlife we haven’t seen that much of and introduce the British audience to something a bit different.” She said being in New England – famed for its dramatic autumn colours – “should be gorgeous”.
Chris, 57, admitted last year that the presenters, who also host Springwatch, were ticked off for their risque humour.
He said: “We often get told off afterwards. We have had a warning for pushing it. But we are trying to appeal to a broad audience.”
Chris, Michaela and co-host Gillian Burke will present three specials from New England in October.
