EVERY hospital in England will have an around-the-clock team to help problem drinkers under Labour, the Shadow Health Secretary announced yesterday.

Jon Ashworth, whose dad was an alcoholic, unveiled the £13.5million pledge to put an Alcohol Care Team in England’s 191 district general hospitals.

The project’s cost would be outweighed by saving the NHS £40milllion in the long run. He said: “We’ve ignored it too long.”
