Pogba questions Mourinho tactics: We MUST attack, attack, attack, instead we defend.. but I am just a player, not the manager

PAUL POGBA has accused Jose Mourinho of holding Manchester United back with his negative tactics. United lost further ground in the title race when they drew 1-1 at home to Wolves and now trail Premier League leaders Liverpool by eight points. And Pogba, whose relationship with Mourinho (left) is strained, risked a fresh fall-out with his boss by claiming

a pragmatic approach is inhibiting United. “We’re at home and we should play better against Wolves,” said Pogba (above).

“When we’re at home we should attack, attack, attack. That’s Old Trafford. We’re here to attack. Teams are scared when they see Manchester United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake.

“We should just attack and press like we did against Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal last season. When we play like this, it’s easier for us.”

Pressed on what was stopping United from adopting an all-out attacking approach in keeping with the club’s heritage, the midfielder pointed the finger of blame firmly at Mourinho.

“I can’t tell you because I’m a player,” said Pogba. “It’s not me. I’m not the manager, I cannot say that, but obviously we should show more options of playing. But I can’t say that because I’m a player.”

United’s title hopes already look over after just six games and Pogba added: “We’ve played three games at home in the Premier League and got only four points. It’s not enough.”
