BOGEYMAN REED IS GOING FOR RORY

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

PATRICK REED wants a Paris rematch with Ryder Cup rival Rory McIlroy. The American beat Europe’s superstar in an electric opening singles clash in Hazeltine in 2016 (left) to pave the way for a crushing home win. And the Masters champion, who famously shushed the Gleneagles crowd at the 2014 Ryder Cup (below) is ready to lead the United States to victory by beating McIlroy again this week. “I’ll take playing him – I’m 1 and 0,” said Reed. “Last time it was a very important part of the match, with us having the lead going into Sunday. So I told the captain I wanted to go first, I wanted Rory. “The good thing is, we both played some really, really good golf and we both wanted it really badly and to be able to come out on top and pave the way for the team to go out and finish the job that afternoon was a lot of fun.”
