Morison: Lions will roar again

- BY DARREN WITCOOP

STEVE MORISON believes Millwall can kickstart their season by inflicting another cup giant-killing tonight.

The Lions host Premier League new-boys Fulham on the back of a woeful run of Championship form.

Neil Harris’s men have dropped into the bottom three, after collecting just one point from their last six games, and lost 2-0 at West Brom on Saturday.

But forward Morison hopes taking the Cottagers’ scalp in the EFL Cup third round tonight will be the catalyst to end their alarming league slump.

The Lions skipper said: “We know it’s not been good enough so far. Points have been dropped late on in games and little things have gone against us.

“We all knew this was going to be a tougher season than last term (when they finished eighth – three points off the play-off places).

“But nobody is panicking. One win can get us going again and we need that very quickly.

“It’s only the players who are going to put it right.“

Millwall – who boast a history of cup upsets down the years – will not have been helped by a midfield shortage at The Den.

Ryan Tunnicliffe (broken toe) and Ryan Leonard are among the absentees.

And veteran striker Morison, 35, added: “There’s plenty more to come with this squad.

“You enjoy the good times when you are winning – and you have to dig in when it’s not going your way.”
