Sanchez is out of time
IF I was Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, I’d be contemplating offloading Alexis Sanchez.
United would get huge money for the Chilean star who would fit in at Paris Saint-Germain with Neymar et al, or at Bayern Munich, where he’d score goals for fun, or at Juventus, where he could link up with Cristiano Ronaldo.
There are times as a player that you need to knock on your manager’s door and have the following conversation. “Gaffer, it’s not working.” “I know it’s not working. Shall we give it 10 games?”
“Yes, let’s do that and, if it’s still not working, can we come to some sort of agreement?”
Managers get it, even though the moneymen might not agree.
What Mourinho needs to do now is give Sanchez a run of 10-15 games and tell him he’s the main man, and if it still isn’t working let him get on with his career elsewhere.
There’s still time to rescue it at Old Trafford, but not much.
