HIV and hepatitis sufferers infected from blood transfusions are hopefully a step nearer justice after a public inquiry heard their heartbreaking testimonies.

What must never be repeated is the delay in establishing the probe when this NHS scandal dates to the 70s and 80s, with good people dying before they could be heard.
