THE Duchess of Sussex looks stunning as she arrives for her first ever solo royal engagement.

The event is a milestone in Meghan’s life as a member of the monarchy – as she ventured out without the support of Harry.

The 37-year-old former actress joined guests at the opening of an exhibition of works from the Oceania region at the Royal Academy of Arts, Central London.

Meghan wowed in a black £2,510 Givenchy dress and her favourite Aquazzura Deneuve heels.

She topped the outfit off with a black Givenchy clutch bag and £9,000 diamond earrings.

The exhibit marks the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy, which was founded in 1768 – the year Captain James Cook set out on his first Endeavour expedition.

Meghan viewed many of the 200 artefacts on show and told New Zealand video artist Lisa Reihana: “It’s so special. It’s spectacular.”

The Duchess added it was a perfect taster for the region she and Prince Harry will be visiting next month, saying: “It’s a great introduction to the sights and sounds of that part of the world.”

The pair are due to tour Australia, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand starting on October 16.

Meghan also took part in a traditional Maori nose rub. Known as the “hongi”, the gesture involves touching noses and foreheads, and is considered the equivalent of a formal handshake.

Meghan’s first solo event comes just four months after her May 19 wedding.
