Chef’s jaw broken in sarnie row
A CHEF had his jaw broken in a kitchen bust-up over an order for a tuna and sweetcorn baguette – without sweetcorn.
Tensions were already high between Hugo Ramalho-Pereira, 27, and fellow chef Peter Lopian over customer complaints about their food.
The guest’s special sandwich request proved to be the final straw and the pair ended up face-to-face in their kitchen. Mr Lopian said: “I stuck my tongue out and licked his nose, I don’t know why. “He stepped back and punched me.” Oxford magistrates ordered Ramalho-Pereira to pay £1,000 for wounding Mr Lopian at the Crown and Cushion Hotel in Chipping Norton, Oxon, once owned by The Who’s late drummer Keith Moon.
