ALLEN KEY AS CLARETS SUNK AGAIN

JAMIE ALLEN steered Burton into the last 16 for the first time as Burnley suffered another knockout embarrassment. The midfielder (below) took Liam Boyce’s pass and slotted a shot under Tom Heaton to complete a remarkable comeback for Nigel Clough’s side. Burnley had looked to be going through when Kevin Long headed in from Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s corner in the 40th minute. But the Clarets have gone out of this competition to lower-division opposition in the past four seasons. Boyce, who missed most of last season with knee ligament damage, grabbed the equaliser with a shot that surprised Heaton at his near post in the 62nd minute.
