Pool rock as Hoops see red
ARMAND GNANDUILLET’S first goal of the season and a late blast from Jay Spearing sent Blackpool into the fourth round for just the second time in 45 years.
Gnanduillet (above) turned the ball home with a close-range volley on 28 minutes after Ben Heneghan won a header at the back post at a corner.
Spearing then delivered an unstoppable shot in the last minute to complete a miserable night for Steve McClaren’s visitors who played the last 20 minutes with 10 men after Jordan Cousins was sent off for a second poor challenge having been booked in the first half.
McClaren made nine changes to his starting line-up and their first attempt came on the hour but keeper Mark Howard grabbed Sean Goss’s curling cross under his bar.
