GET RID OF HIM

Mourinho and Pogba clash AGAIN.. and now the manager demands United’s £89M signing is ditched in the New Year transfer window

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

JOSE MOURINHO wants to sell Paul Pogba in January and is insisting the Manchester United board back him.

The warring pair clashed again in training yesterday in a twominute spat in front of TV cameras.

Pogba is desperate to join Barcelona just two years after returning to United for a club record £89million.

And with tensions rising around the team and impacting on players’ confidence, Mourinho is keen to get rid of the French World Cup

winner as soon as possible. United believe their best chance of receiving a world record £200m transfer fee is to wait until the summer but he wants a deal done sooner.

The latest chapter in the feud between Mourinho and Pogba unfolded at the start of training for those players not involved in the shock League Cup defeat by Derby County.

Pogba emerged for training and, after highfiving coach Michael Carrick, stared down Mourinho after the United boss appeared to fail to offer him a handshake. After the player high-fived media relations officer John Allen, Mourinho continued his verbal exchange with Pogba as the pair walked away.

Pogba joined a small training group, which appears to annoy Mourinho, who calls over Allen to apparently act as a go-between in a discussion about the timing of a posting on Instagram the previous evening as the French star watched from the stands. The episode ended with Pogba spreading his arms wide in dismay before shrugging in disbelief.
