HIS GOAL IS GREAT
After writing about the big heart of ex-footballer Neville ‘Big Nev’ Southall last week, it was brilliant this week to see one of the current generation making a difference.
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is to donate all profits from his testimonial match to the city’s homeless.
The Belgian defender has also set up Tackle4MCR with Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham – who donates 15% of his mayoral salary to a homelessness fund.
“As this city is so powerful compared to so many other cities I have visited in the past, I think we have a responsibility to take everyone along with us on that journey,” Kompany said. Bravo.
