This excellent careerspanning collection of previously unreleased treasures from the late, great Clash legend’s archive is affirmation for new and old fans alike. The continuity in rocking Joe’s impassioned and inspired musical journey burns bonfire bright. The beautiful Rose of Erin shows why the Highland laddie became a natural affiliate of The Pogues, and like so many outtakes here it’s equal to, if not better than, tracks released in his lifetime. Shame Joe’s big heart gave out far too soon, but it is great to have this.
