Sun puts heat on hospitals
THE summer heatwave caused the number of sunrelated hospital admissions to soar.
Data from NHS Digital shows there were 259 heat or sunlight-related admissions in England in July, compared to 59 for the same month in 2017.
From April to the end of July there were 598 admissions, while there were 407 the year before.
NHS Digital said that figures could rise further as the information for August is not yet available.
