Becks makes a speedy recovery
Posh date night in Paris after court let-off
DAVID Beckham celebrated missing out on a speeding fine by enjoying a £1,300 bottle of fine wine in Paris with designer wife Victoria.
The couple jetted to France where they dined with TV star pal Eva Longoria, feasting on snails and steak swilled down with the Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru burgundy.
Former Spice Girl Victoria, 44, uploaded a photo of the posh bottle on Instagram.
It came as campaigners blasted ex-England captain David, 43, for beating the rap thanks to an expensive lawyer.
Nick “Mr Loophole” Freeman successfully argued the case was “defective” as police had served the legal papers outside the statutory 14-day window.
He slammed the case as a “scandalous waste of taxpayers’ money”. After Becks was spared a fine on Thursday, charity Brake said yesterday it was “hugely disappointing to see a role model like Beckham shirking his responsibility and getting off a speeding prosecution on a mere technicality”.
Wimbledon magistrates heard Becks admitted doing 59mph in a 40mph zone in a borrowed Bentley in Paddington, West London in January, but the prosecution notice arrived too late with the manufacturer which had loaned the car.
Freeman got a speeding rap overturned for Becks in 1999 by arguing that the star was being chased by paparazzi.
