Cheers! Bar lifts spirits at care home
A CARE home is keeping elderly and dementia residents smiling — by opening their own pub.
The Train Inn will host quiz nights, karaoke and gin-tastings.
An old storage building at St Oswald’s House, in Warrington, Cheshire, was transformed into a bar — with memorabilia plus fixtures and fittings donated by relatives.
The beers, wines, spirits, non-alcoholic drinks and nibbles are free to residents.
Manager Ria Percival said: “Everyone can pop into their local. Should anyone need care assistance, it’s at hand.
“The home has been inundated with donations. That has helped forge new links in the community.”
