Cenotaph hit by police car
A POLICE car crashed into a war memorial that had just been restored for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.
The marked BMW was on an emergency call and had its blue lights on when it was in a collision with a Mini then hit the cenotaph at Norton, Suffolk.
Nobody was badly hurt but it took chunks out of the ornate stone work and parish council chief Andy Burt, 35, fears repairs may cost “tens of thousands”.
