I’m youngest pub landlord

-

A BARMAN is to become Britain’s youngest landlord when he takes over a pub at the age of 19.

John Oldfield was working at the General Burgoyne and heard it would be changing hands.

So he applied for the job and starts on Friday.

John said he is looking to breathing new life into the pub in Urswick, Cumbria.

He said: “I want to get it back on its feet and to being a vibrant country pub at the heart of the community.” Dad John, 59, said: “We’re all so proud.”
