A SUPERMARKET shelf stacker has built his way to a dream job… in Lego.

James Windle, a Tesco general assistant for 18 years, beat a thousand others to become one of just 24 Master Builders anywhere.

Lifelong fan James, 34, had to present his designs to a panel of children in his gruelling interview. He now spends his days creating masterpieces in brick at Legoland Discovery Centre, Manchester.

He said: “I’m living my best life. I used to get a set for every birthday and Christmas from my mum. She stills buys me one every Christmas, I never grew out of it. I’ve got a Lego tattoo on my arm.”

His work includes making display models and inspiring children who visit the centre to use the Danish toy bricks creatively.

Jenn McDonough, from Lego Discovery Centre owners Merlin, said: “We chose James because he’s absolutely perfect for the job.

“He is incredibly creative, talented, outgoing and patient, and the kids love him, of course.” OVERJOYED James
