Becks is no role model

- Debbie L Hughes Warrington, Cheshire

So, the superstar role model better known as David Beckham has escaped a fine and points on his licence after being caught speeding in a borrowed Bentley motor car and not for the first time (Mirror, Sept 28).

Beckham smugly says he is relieved, but he shouldn’t have been speeding in the first place. He claims that his children are brought up strictly and that as parents they lead by example. Some example!

I cannot believe more money is being asked for to fund the search of Madeleine McCann who went missing in 2007 (Mirror, September 27).

The £12million already used could have been spent on paying for more police officers for the benefit of everyone. It is a sad fact, but this little girl will probably never be found.

On holiday in Eastbourne last week we got talking to some people from London who thought Boris Johnson was marvellous. What planet are they on? There are none so blind as those who will not see.

I disagree with Rita Farndell (Your Voice, Sept 26) who states it was a great move by Simon Cowell to sign up Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field to The X Factor. The show needs axeing not revamping. It needs to go.
