Nursery kids’ mental boost

SENDING kids to a nursery is better for psychological development than leaving them with childminders or family, a study claims.

Researchers said those in a nursery or creche are less likely to have poor social skills, difficult peer relationships or behavioural issues, particularly if they go for a year or more.

The study, in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, looked at kids in France, where formal childcare is highquality and open to all.
