Physicist is axed amid sexism row
UPROAR Professor Strumia A SCIENTIST has been suspended after saying physics “was invented and built by men”.
Professor Alessandro Strumia also said his results “proved physics is not sexist against women”.
He claimed men had been discriminated against because women had received free or subsidised science education in Italy.
Prof Strumia has now been suspended from working with the famous Cern centre in Geneva.
It said his presentation was “highly offensive”.
Prof Strumia, of Pisa University, said: “I discovered [physics] was becoming sexist against men and said so.”
Nobel Prize-winner Marie Curie is recognised as being one of the greatest physicists of all time.
