Oil price puts diesel at high

-

DIESEL has risen a penny a litre to reach a four-year high after oil price hikes.

Experts fear a barrel of oil, currently $83, could hit $100 by the end of the year.

US sanctions against oil producer Iran come into force next month and OPEC has said it cannot plug the gap fast enough.

Supermarkets cut petrol by 2p a litre last week, but diesel is back up to 134.41p a litre on average.

The RAC said oil prices were a “dark cloud over forecourts”. Diesel is 14p a litre dearer than a year ago.
