Killer puffer on UK beach

A DEADLY pufferfish has been found in Cornwall.

A couple walking their dog discovered the toxic animal in a rock pool.

Julian Buckland, from Gloucester­shire, was visiting Hayle with his wife and did not realise what the fish was until they Googled pictures later.

He said: “Apparently they are deadly if touched. Fortunatel­y my wife didn’t try to put it in the sea.”

The pufferfish, usually found in tropical waters, contains tetrodotox­in, for which there is no antidote.
