The fact it has been revealed the Tories intend to steal £2.7billion from the NHS budget surely confirms it was their intention from the outset to bring the people’s health service to its knees.
To achieve this end they seek to break the confidence and spirit of our loyal and hard-working NHS staff in order to allow their millionaire backers in private healthcare to cherry-pick any potential profitmaking parts of the service.
But they grossly underestimate the strength of the nation’s feelings for our beloved NHS. Neil Atherton St Helens, Merseyside
The Tories claim they are putting an extra £20billion into the health service but then we read they are in fact plotting NHS cuts of £2.7billion on the sly to cover the cost of a rising pensions bill. The Tories are full of promises, but once they get into power they become a different party, only interested in looking after their affluent friends. They could easily raise the cash if they taxed the rich more and the likes of Amazon which pays so little. This country needs a good shake-up. Dave Mellor, Warrington
