‘I’ll Ryde off happy now’

-

IAN POULTER claimed beating the world No.1 to help Europe to victory would be the perfect swansong if he has played his last Ryder Cup.

The European legend (below), 42, contributed to his team’s first-ever foursomes clean sweep on Friday and beat Dustin Johnson in the singles.

“I don’t know how many Ryder Cups I have left,” he said. “So if this is my last, I will have gone out on a real high note.”

Asked how the team would know if captain Thomas Bjorn has the score tattooed on his backside, Poulter added: “Don’t worry, we’ll see that it’s carried out, for sure!”
