FRANK LAMPARD has ordered Derby to forget about their mouthwatering Carabao Cup tie at Chelsea.

Chelsea legend Lampard will take his Rams side to Stamford Bridge in the fourth round in the week starting October 29. County progressed after beating Manchester United at Old Trafford on penalties. Lampard’s backroom staff of Jody Morris (above) and Chris Jones also have strong ties to Chelsea But Derby host Norwich tonight and Lampard insists that must be their focus. Lampard, who played for the Blues from 2001-2014, said: “It is a great draw for the club for many reasons and an emotional draw for me. We are pleased and I am delighted for the players to have the chance to try and reproduce anything like the performance they did at Manchester United. “After what Chelsea meant to me, on a personal level it is in the stars.

“But there are a few weeks and games to focus on in between. “It is a nice carrot waiting for the squad at the end of the month.”

Norwich boss Daniel Farke reckons Derby will be promotion contenders because of the way Lampard is adapting to management.

The Canaries are a point ahead of the Rams and Farke said: “It is a tough job to go into the Championship for your first job as a coach.

“But I can see his philosophy and I like it a lot.

“They are flexible with lots of vertical play and able to create chances with many offensive threats.”
