THE PM had to fight on Labour territory on transport, with Jeremy Corbyn and voters calling for rail renationalisation.

She said: “Since privatisation, investment in the network has gone up, safety has improved and more people are travelling by rail... But on some routes, the service has not been good enough. We will fix that.” She said the Tories’ “road-building programme is the largest since the 1970s”.
