ROTHERHAM WARNE OUT

-

Rotherham 0 Bristol C 0

ROTHERHAM were frustrated by their failure to capitalise on a host of chances against Bristol. Paul Warne’s side dominated play and squandered several good opportunities to pick up all three points. They suffered a blow when captain Richard Wood withdrew after injuring his groin in the warm-up. Wingers Joe Newell and Jon Taylor, who replaced Wood, were a constant threat with Newell’s clever turn inside the box almost leading to the first goal. The closest the home side came to breaking the deadlock was a header by Will Vaulks from Newell’s corner, which was well saved by Niki Maenpaa. Bristol, who were disappointing, had their own chances, but Marley Watkins could not bundle the ball home after a penalty-area scramble and fellow sub Jamie Paterson saw his late shot cannon off the bar.
