THAT
was an interesting quote about David Luiz from Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri at the weekend: “If he has to say something to me, he does that. I appreciate very much the man as he is direct.” There couldn’t be a greater contrast with the assessment of Luiz by Sarri’s predecessor, Antonio Conte, who brutally discarded the Brazilian after he questioned his tactics last November. Makes you wonder, looking at the way Luiz is now playing, that if Conte had been more appreciative of his directness he might still be his manager.
