Teen charged in OAP death

A TEENAGER appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of an OAP who was battered to death.

Arthur Gumbley, 87, died three weeks after being found injured at his home in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids, last November.

Police released photos of the OAP in hospital as they appealed for information.

Jason Wilsher, 19, of Bagworth, Leics, appeared before magistrates in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

He is due at Stafford crown court tomorrow.
