Magic way to start day

-

■ As charities delivering the Department of Education’s National School Breakfast Programme, we at Family Action and Magic Breakfast read your article about teachers buying food for hungry pupils with interest (Oct 1).

We offer schools the support to ensure no child starts the day too hungry to learn. Our programme provides enough free, nutritious food to feed all children at risk of hunger in over 1,770 schools in areas of disadvantage.

We also provide a grant for schools to purchase essential equipment like freezers and toasters, and offer support from our team. Any schools reading this who suspect their pupils are at risk of hunger can visit our website at family-action.org.uk/breakfast.
