Prison for stun gun smugglers

-

TWO Lithuanian brothers caught smuggling stun guns into the UK disguised as torches have been jailed.

Donatas, 27, and Giedrius Armalys, 23, were stopped at the Port of Dover in March carrying £10,000 in cash and 22 of the prohibited weapons. Indecent images of children were later discovered on their mobile phones.

At Canterbury crown court the brothers, of no fixed address, both admitted possession of stun guns and indecent images and were sentenced to five years each.

National Crime Agency branch commander Matt Rivers said: “In the hands of violent criminals or gangs, these are extremely dangerous weapons.

“Given the number seized, we believe they would have ended up being sold on the black market.”
