Lads lust for Lara but women bond with Bond
ANGELINA Jolie’s Lara Croft, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow have been voted the sexiest female film characters of all time.
Researchers from Chili.com polled 1,000 film fans to discover the hottest men and women in big screen history.
Tomb Raider Lara Croft easily came first with 28%, followed by Wonder Woman on 19%, and The Avengers’ Black Widow, 18%.
Daniel Craig’s James Bond topped the list of sexiest male characters with 22% of votes, followed by Chris Hemsworth’s hammerthrowing comic book character Thor in second on 18% and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in third, scoring 17%.
George Clooney as Danny Ocean – from the 2001 heist blockbuster Ocean’s Eleven – came in fourth place.
The research showed 86% of Brits choose to watch a film because they have the hots for the main character.
And a third of those polled admitted they would struggle to keep their cool if they met their on-screen crush in real life. It also seems fiction is even sexier than reality with the majority of Brits, some 52%, claiming they fancy sexy characters in films more than the actors who actually play them.
Giorgio Tacchia, founder of film streaming website Chili.com, said: “Our research shows characters make us fall in love with films – some of the biggest hits and most popular franchises are built on the connection film fans feel for the leading man or lady.”
He added: “People don’t just watch characters – they feel for them, fall for them and even lust after them.”
