TV hopeful was Ann Summers sex toy tester
ONE of the contestants on The Apprentice used to work as a sex toy tester for Ann Summers.
Rick Monk, 33, was hired along with his partner Katie and appeared on videos for the store talking about his raunchy bedroom antics.
At the launch of the series he did not mention this previous screen work but said: “I won’t pussyfoot and waste time, as time is of the essence in everything. People will have to like it or lump it.”
He was a regular face on Ann Summers’ YouTube channel, appearing in eight-minute clips where he would give reviews and guide customers to the hottest toys on offer.
The channel had viewing figures of up to 80,000.
Sharing his tips on bondage and spanking for the camera, he told viewers: “Bondage isn’t daunting. Everyone’s seen Fifty Shades of Grey.
“Everyone speaks about it – it’s the norm now.
“I am always in the mood for a nice little spank too. It feels really good.”
Lancashire-born Rick also said: “The things I like about sex? The toys. The lingerie. Everything. Nothing pushes boundaries with me.” And in one video that could be a future pitch to Lord Sugar for a new business, Rick also said he wanted to create his own vibrator range. He said: “I’d design my own sex toy. It would be called Randy Rick’s Robotic D**k. Yeah.” At the launch of the new BBC1 series of The Apprentice, Rick described himself as a “quality controller”. He has admitted that he and Katie, who have two children together, had previously worked as escorts. Rick said in a statement: “We’re in a loving relationship and have been together for many years. As many couples are these days, we’re also sexually adventurous people. “In the past we have been listed on an escort agency website but we are not currently active members and haven’t been for some time.” Talking about the qualities that would make Lord Sugar hire him, he said he was confident and assertive. He also said that he was good at getting the best out of others. He aimed to befriend all the contestants but warned he is a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” and would use this to his advantage.
