Google’s map app has just been given a huge update and it’s good news for both foodies and commuters.

You can now create a shortlist of places you fancy visiting by clicking and holding on a restaurant.

You can then share that list with pals if you’re all trying to decide on a venue.

There’s also a Foodie List of popular spots, as well as trending round-ups and user-generated content such as ‘London’s best all-day breakfast spots’.

For transport, motorists can get the latest alerts on hold-ups on the roads, plus there’s a delay prediction feature.

Meanwhile, train commuters can check their nearest stations for live service times.

Future updates will include the ability to control your music through the map screen too.
