Tudhope back on Laurens
BRYAN SMART has warned punters not to overlook Nunthorpe Stakes hero Alpha Delphini in Sunday’s Prix de l’Abbaye.
The seven-year-old, who sprang a 40-1 shock at York, can be backed at 20-1 for Sunday’s five-furlong Group 1.
“I thought he would be third or fourth favourite, so he’s got to be overpriced,” said Smart.
“If he runs his race, he’ll be thereabouts.” DANNY TUDHOPE will keep the ride on Laurens when the Karl Burketrained filly bids for a fourth career Group 1 in the Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.
Tudhope was on board when Laurens, who faces nine rivals in the one-mile test, beat Alpha Centauri — subsequently retired through injury — in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown last month.
